1182910 2011-03-02 05:54:00 I have a ASUS mobo, the speaker in Windows Media and on my taskbar is MAX. Possible to make it louder a bit?

Is that the settings under ASUS - environments? Like conference or sewage pipe etc?

PS. I am using headphones.

1182911 2011-03-02 06:03:00 Dont use the ASUS drivers theyre crap. If you're using Vista or Win7, use their drivers. They're better and louder Speedy Gonzales (78)
1182912 2011-03-03 21:35:00 soudcards just don't put out that much volume, try what speedy suggested but if you can't get it loud enough you have to try something else.

For the LAN I regularly go to I invested in USB headphones as I simply couldn't hear normal ones over the backgroud noise. Another option is a cheap pair of speakers with a headphone socket, basically just using them as a headphone amp.

1182913 2011-03-04 05:46:00 I've tried the ASUS audio drivers, for this mobo in Vista and Win7. They're hopeless. And 1/2 the volume of the windows drivers. Which are definitely better and louder Speedy Gonzales (78)
1182914 2011-03-04 09:31:00 Speedy how does one swap the drivers?

Where on MS do I get th drivers?

1182915 2011-03-04 09:50:00 Uninstall the ASUS drivers if you installed them then reboot. They'll default to the windows drivers Speedy Gonzales (78)
1182916 2011-03-04 12:00:00 Have you checked the Wave volume and not just the master volume?

Try the latest drivers from your sound device maker, eg: Realtek - Windows ones will work but you will probably lose some features

1182917 2011-03-04 12:30:00 Thats if you can get them from the Realtek site. It was slow as hell lol. And the last version I downloaded from Realtek, were just as bad as the ASUS ones (even if its got more features) Speedy Gonzales (78)

If you mean the ASUS Realtk utility - that's maxed up. Might have a look at the Realtek site, thanks.
