| 1182888 | 2011-03-02 05:44:00 | Is it one port in particular, or any port; if one port only I would suspect a short within that port, if any port check for a short in the male plug/s of the units you're plugging in; alternatively you may have excessive current draw either individually or collectively, you usually can only draw .5 amps per port, also your power supply may not be supplying enough current to drive everything and boot too. Do you have a large external HDD (3.5") or two, taking power from the USB port/s? |

| 1182889 | 2011-03-03 01:15:00 | these are all great suggestions: what I did was go into bios and disabled usb boot and disabled boot usb devices first this has worked! the computer boots fine with a usb device plugged in. Thank you all for your suggestions |
