1142548 2010-10-07 23:02:00 As NZ was in decimal currency as from 10th July 1967 we were not using pounds in 1981. Snorkbox (15764)
1142549 2010-10-07 23:06:00 I took it to mean exchange rate between British Pounds and NZ Dollars. DeSade (984)
1142550 2010-10-07 23:13:00 Well who the hell would know what was meant?

Presumably in 1981 30 pounds was worth 30 pounds.

Dollars were not mentioned NZ or otherwise and for I know it could have been Egyptian pounds for that matter.

1142551 2010-10-07 23:15:00 A lot more than now. zqwerty (97)
1142552 2010-10-07 23:26:00 That was around the time I did my OE. IIRC, the exchange rate was around .32.

Excellent for coming back with pounds, but horrendous going the other way!!!

An easier way to put this is, if i had 30pounds in uk in 2010 and it was enough to buy 100 loaves of bread, how many loaves of bread could i have brought in uk in 1981 with 30 pounds?
