1142464 2010-10-07 15:41:00 Watching TV is always rife with head slaps and 'Wow - did you hear THAT', but usually in a post-commercial sense when you realize that what you saw was interesting but you've missed it and finding that same commercial again isn't likely .

OK - I'll explain:::::

I was in a drowsy mood, watching a show that wasn't good nor interesting and then a commercial came on .

SCENE: some kid on top of a large building, turns on some sorta electronic device (that looks like my old Palm Clie) and lays it down on the sill of the roof, where he's standing, looking down at the streets from 20 stories up or so . . . . .

Whamm-o! Everybody on the street below is streaming his broadcast into their own 'some sorta Palm-like device' and listening to his music .

Wha-a-a-a !?!

Is this some sort of WIFI Hot-Spot broadcasting device?

I can't find this commercial again - they just don't list them on the TV-Guide - and now I wonder if I actually saw this or it was part of the semi-dreamstate I was in (ending ANOTHER badly structured sentence with a preposition- rats!) .

1142466 2010-10-07 21:11:00 Sounds like a typically stupid advertisement to me, where they do something ridiculously improbable Agent_24 (57)

You sayin' it might be something that doesn't exist? Wow! I never thought that a TV commercial would stoop so low .

That's just unkind to the max .

Where's the laws about truth in advertising when you need them to be enforced? :dogeye:

1142468 2010-10-07 21:24:00 The truth in advertising was killed off when McDonalds showed a photo of their burgers. Agent_24 (57)
1142469 2010-10-07 21:57:00 Funny ya mention that .

A couple of years ago I was driving up in Northern California stopped at a Burger King on my to go trout fishing (when I could actually walk a distance, that is) and there at a Burger King, a busload of German tourists got off and in typical fashion they made a bee-line to the order counter and just pointed to the hamburgers they wanted .

When the burgers arrived, a couple of the tallest, blond hair, blue eyed guys walked over to the order side of the counter - pointing to their burgers and back to the menu picture and kept on saying: "Nicht die selben . , Nicht die selben . " and the girl behind the counter was saying "What? What I don't understand" .

I, on the other hand just ate what I got - it was great! So was the floor show .

1142470 2010-10-07 23:20:00 With ad's the way they are, I'm guessing it was selling milk.

And anyway, it's nothing that can't be achieved with an FM broadcast. Perfectly useful technology, if it wasn't for the man.

Oh, and lets not forget the royalties for the music you broadcast (over watchamacallit or FM).

1142471 2010-10-07 23:49:00 The ad was probably for some service that allows you to upload your music and lets others download and listen to it, but not in exactly the same was as the ad showed.

That's just to make it look good so you buy it, which is the point of advertising.

1142472 2010-10-08 01:12:00 I'll watch for it again and this time, I'll take notes. SurferJoe46 (51)
