| 1145227 | 2010-10-15 22:19:00 | I can't believe it, after about a month messing around with different settings, rebooting router every other day and lots of colourful expletives, I have fixed the wireless problem I was having with my laptop not connecting to router. Wait for it! I changed the channel......... LL :clap:clap:clap |

| 1145231 | 2010-10-16 01:04:00 | You have me worried I have just got routers straight from the box and plugged them in and just pressed enter enter and they have started working. Can changing the channels make them better? |

| 1145232 | 2010-10-16 01:20:00 | Does the router default to a set channel? Mine is a Netgear DG834G and I think it has always been set on Channel 11. The laptop is a Macbook and someone on their forum suggested I change the Channel, so I set it to 9 and it works fine. (hopefully will continue to do so) They also said that someone close by might have a new wireless device that was causing interference. It has only been happening in the last month, so I guess that could have been the problem. LL |

| 1145233 | 2010-10-16 02:25:00 | most routers have the default channel set as 6 or 11, if it has problems then a channel change may fix, if its going ok except its a bit slow then a channel change will not fix it. eg if it drops out occasionally, try another channel |
