Have been a Sir Cliff fan ever since. Went to see him when he was in Auckland last and it was a great show. It was also great to see Hank Marvin and The Shadows as well. Sir Cliff has not been as active on the charts of late, but that does not seem to matter as he has recorded so many memorable songs we can exist on those. With all his millions I'm certain he will have a great birthday. |

This time he is apparently going to stay home and have a takeaway curry with his family. He must be feeling his age. Or maybe he doesn't like rhubarb crumble any more. Or maybe just the ones my daughter made... | John H (8) | ||

Maybe I misremembered... Still, I suppose he has family of origin like brothers sisters cousins etc, and family is a pretty loose concept these days! Personally, I have never liked his 'singing', if you can call it that. I don't like sugar in tea, coffee, or singing either. Even when he sang with the Shadows, I only listened because of the band. Most of my early records were of the Shadows on their own, plus the Beatles of course. I don't think he has moved on since the 1950's - a bit of a time warp physically and 'artistically'. |
