1146118 2010-10-20 01:57:00 My dog is a schnauzer! But he is not deaf.

1146119 2010-10-20 02:38:00 That was a new one to me Cicero, but a good story nonetheless. I think I'll be leaving my dog behind though as he is much younger than me. (As are most people and their dogs) :) Richard (739)
1146120 2010-10-20 22:13:00 In 5 years my future will be 5 years shorter, somebody will claim to have found a public benefit from the Super City fiasco, and Christchurch will be generating power by harnessing the aftershocks. R2x1 (4628)
1146121 2010-10-21 06:13:00 I rember as a kid being told that man would be living on the moon by the turn of the century (you remember Space 1999?) and would have walked on Mars by 1980!

When was that? 1975!

Then again a ski area in the North Island said they would be building 3 lifts over 3 years! 5 years on only one built

See a pattern?

Ok in 5 years you can either do a lot or do nothing! Kids tend to slow you down....lol

1146122 2010-10-21 06:28:00 Good **** and good luck. I was gunna do cpl but got married and had kidz no money for lessons. Got ppl but its lapsed

hell yeah, flying is for the ultimate win. just gotta hope I can survive life without getting screwed over by failing an exam like maths. i'm (hopefully) pretty lucky as I have fall backs if flying commercial doesn't work out. either airforce, digital design in advertising or similar, computing or go work in dairy as an hydroponics engineer (big fancy word for farm plumber) all of the options are pretty viable and I have had experience in all fields. wishin I had 9 lives

5hrs down, many more to go

1146123 2010-10-21 06:31:00 Dont have to worry about a thing when you are young.
When i was young my priorities:
Hunting, fishing, diving, motorcycles, flying, cricket, drinking piss, rooting chicks, listening to Abba music.
I am probaly lying to myself drinking piss was number one priority ands the other fell into line I think.

nothings changed :xmouth:

1146125 2010-10-21 11:05:00 Fully qualified with lots of work experience and ready to move! beeswax34 (63)
1146126 2010-10-22 08:37:00 My employers are regularly doing 'reviews' where they ask "What do you see as your next move" or the like of this threads "What do you see yourself doing in five years".

The implied message is that you have to keep striving for advancement... and in turn that they (the employers) actually care.

Despite retirement being decades away, I now, somewhat sarcastically state 'retirement' as my next career move. It would certainly be a nice career change.

Otherwise I expect in 5 years I'll be on this same chair, looking at the same screen.
