| 1145743 | 2010-10-19 06:30:00 | Definitely sounds like a faulty headphone jack or broken solder connections. Would be very easy to resolder or replace - the hardest part would be getting in there (but it could be easy) If you don't think it's worth anything, list it on Freecycle. Probably someone will take it off your hands who can fix it. |

| 1145745 | 2010-10-19 19:05:00 | Well it looks as though the fate of my Philips is sealed. I cannot sell it so far at any price (I would have accepted $5), but one of my grandchildren wants to have a go at fixing it - I didn't even know she could solder. So it could end up being used and loved. Tom |

| 1145747 | 2010-10-19 21:43:00 | Thats lovely Tommy, did you get an LCD yet? Yep - a Samsung - I don't like it as much as SONY but it was the right price. I saw it originally in DSE and then in Noel Leemings who were very helpful in telling me the various pros and cons - then they mentioned the price - I looked unhappy and told them that DSE were offering the same set at $150 cheaper. The sales assistant told me to hang on - went on to his computer (the internet I suspect) came back and told me they would match the DSE price - it pays to ask! |
