| 1186170 | 2011-03-15 02:02:00 | Hi Guys, I am thinking about buying another Ex-HDD, I have a Seagate 320Gb at the moment - no problems so far. I am undecided whether to go for 2.5"/ 3.5" (USB powered or not) Seagate or WD buy on trade me or look for the cheapest retailer. I just want it for all my Pics, HDD size about 500 Gb. | 1186171 | 2011-03-15 02:11:00 | 2.5" has the advantage of not needing another power point. They're smaller. 3.5" has the advantage of having it's own power so isn't reliant on USB power. Either or. Your preference. |

| 1186177 | 2011-03-15 08:10:00 | I'm not so sure if this is true, apparently the 3.5 versions have a faster read write speed via USB than the 2.5" ones. If that is the case, might well be worth considering. Also, as mentioned. if you want a larger sized drive the 3.5" versions are cheaper. Also consider the use. no real point of buying a 2.5" one if it will sit on a desk all day. |
