1185758 2011-03-13 08:14:00 I am looking a getting a netbook. My budget is $500.

Any ideas as to what I can get for that budget.

1185759 2011-03-13 08:19:00 From Ascent, nothing. :p All laptops and netbooks in stock are over $500 (cheapest is $576.98 - an Acer :yuck: - and it's pink :yuck: :yuck:). pcuser42 (130)
1185760 2011-03-13 08:21:00 haha Leave pink alone! I have a pink netbook. The ASUS Eee PC 1000HA Sakura 10". Going to be hard to sell on... Tasha (16262)
1185761 2011-03-13 08:21:00 What about an Asus Eee PC 1001PXD? QW. (15883)
1185762 2011-03-13 08:22:00 You could get one of these:

I have an earlier model of this netbook (AOD250), and would highly recommend it.

1185764 2011-03-13 08:50:00 This might make up your mind as what you should be reliability wise: www.pcworld.com

Also consider that windows 7 Starter (which is on almost every netbook if not it's usually xp) is extremely limited in functionality. To buy an upgrade or new windows license is $160ish + puts you in the price range of a $700 fully functioning laptop.

There are ways around that :devil

My netbook came with Windows 7 Home Premium anyway, which was good: I wanted Media Centre and Aero :p

1185766 2011-03-13 22:56:00 First In (http://firstin.co.nz/) usually has netbooks under $500, including ASUS. Usually there is a netbook featured once a week or so. Strommer (42)
