I'm speccing a notebook that requires an inbuilt mobile broadband modem (it's a Lenovo T410s), and there are two available options - can someone clarify the difference between them:

Integrated mobile broadband

- Integrated Mobile Broadband - Upgradable
- Integrated Mobile Broadband (3G WWAN) - Qualcomm [add NZ$156.25]

Does this means that paying the extra $156 for the Qualcomm gives me true UMTS/3G speed, rather than GSM/EDGE etc?
