1147370 2010-10-24 20:18:00 Any one got one?

any good? which brand?

am thinking of getting one, as 95% of my house is lino after ripping up the carpet . . . . . . . the lino was under the carpet . . . . . . original owners were english, and it was the thing to do in the 60's??? having animals and a asthmatic child, we have noticed a difference with removing the crappy old carpet, and now want a mop that doesnt include buckets of yukky water . . . . . . . .

pro's? or cons?

the cost is a bit over the top, but trademe has a huge range of them . . . . . .

thanks

beetle :)

1147371 2010-10-24 20:30:00 Consumer recommend the Aqua Lazer Steam Mop. Price about $319.

1147372 2010-10-24 20:52:00 We got a Steam Express - Same one As here on Trademe (www.trademe.co.nz) - it was around $200. Works well. Auction closes later today going by the site.

Dont believe the bull about instant dry floors, it doesn't happen, they do take a short while to dry off no matter what the brand.

Out one even got some drips of paint off the floor  that the drop sheet missed when I was doing the kitchen renovation .

Edited: as the ad says "Pads can be brought from Godfreys" SWMBO simply puts ours through the wash, so no idea how much they are.

note2: I see the person is in Lower hutt and must pick up.

Just an Offer:
If you wanted to buy it and won the auction, I could collect it and ship it up + the cost of freight what ever that is.

1147373 2010-10-24 21:25:00 I have one,bought at one of the home shows.

Works quite well, can leave floor wetter than I would like.Certainly clean though.

It has been suggested that by there very nature they can't produce enough heat to dry floor as much as one would like.

1147375 2010-10-25 02:03:00 I can't understand how the Aqua Lazer comes with 1500 Watts of steam.

Since when has steam been measured in Watts?

1147376 2010-10-25 02:08:00 A question that may make me look like a complete idiot...

Does steam mops work with carpets?
LynX (14542)
1147377 2010-10-25 03:04:00 I think you can get Attachments for carpet.

But to Quote SWMBO - (just asked her) we were told (apparently I weren't listening at the time  ) That its not a good Idea, as the mops dont suck out all the moisture from carpet, and the backing has a tendency to rot over time.

Why not ? 1 Joule/second = 1 watt

Or you could have 1BTU/sec =1055 watts

I think the messrs James Watt and James Joule knew what they were doing :clap
