1185583 2011-03-13 22:18:00 I took the phone in, and the guy said, yeah, battery life should be better than that and asked if I charged for 8hrs 1st charge......oops!, I guess I forgot!, did about 4 hrs and it said 100%, the sales girl didnt say anything about that...Anyway, Vodaphone said dont worry, we will send away for replacement anyway, we wont mention 1st charge!! I thought lithium ion batteries didn't have that problem...

1185586 2011-03-14 08:33:00 With oodles of apps and alerts etc my iphone 4 would lose maybe 4-5% a night. So something is up with your unit (or the settings). Happy to list my settings etc if that would help. Petja (16002)

The sales lady never mentioned the 8 hr charge and as the unit appeared to be already charged as she switched it on then connected to laptop to activate, I guess I thought the 1st charge had already been done...??

Apple would most likely have given the battery a quick charge before it leaves the factory so you can turn it on as soon as you remove it from the box. Convenience more than anything.

Like most other devices, it would require a full charge before you start to use it.

1185589 2011-03-15 19:51:00 Yeah every phone I've purchased locally in the last 5-6 years (iPhone 3G included) has come partly charged. The Nexus One I imported from the US did not. Chilling_Silence (9)

thats true, didnt see that, but the sales guy asked me if i had when i took it back, said should get it on charge for 8 hrs, so i have new one here and thats what im doing!
