1147380 2010-10-25 04:37:00 I can't understand how the Aqua Lazer comes with 1500 Watts of steam.

Since when has steam been measured in Watts?

LOL!
Was thinking of buying one of those but might shop around first :)

1147381 2010-10-25 05:35:00 I think you can get Attachments for carpet.

But to Quote SWMBO - (just asked her) we were told (apparently I weren't listening at the time  ) That its not a good Idea, as the mops dont suck out all the moisture from carpet, and the backing has a tendency to rot over time.

The back of carpet is synthetic,so no problem with rotting.

Apart from that, you only steam when carpet needs a freshen up.

No to mention I already lost the bidding..........Oh well, not really necessary, cloth and bucket still works.

1147384 2010-10-25 05:54:00 Got a Bissell steam mop at work. It's a fugly green 80s style thing (although it's near-new). It's not too bad. Gets stuff like dropped (and dried) ice cream off of the hardwood floor. The model we have has a removeable water container which tends to drip a wee bit, not good.

It doesn't dry instantly. Think 5 mins. The pad picks up a lot of crap. Get a machine-washable one.

Also helps if you fill them with warm-hot (near-boiling) water.

Try to avoid using it on black/dark lino though, it leaves streaks. They aren't so bad if you add a bit of vinegar to the water, but still show.

I have had one for 18 months and pal has 3 at his motel.

Cheeky thing........

Since young James was watching his kettle boil.
