| 1187330 | 2011-03-18 09:09:00 | Another issue about my internet. Past few days (after an outage) my internet speeds have been shite. My just done speed test (and the 10's before it) show 1.31 mbps down from my usual 12-16. Although strangely my modem shows a 15.8mbps sync. Another modem I tried showed the actual speed though, so I think my current belkin one is exaggerating a bit. Anyway, orcon tech says no known issues, although I'm apparently on a tele**** cabinet so I'm guessing they could be to blame. This has happened previously, but only went down to about 4 mbps for a few days. This one has been going on for a tad longer, and is slower. So grr. Anyway yeah trying another filter, can't do the diagnostic as suggested by the orcon tech because I can't get into webmail (hah). Basically though, I know there's something wrong, but as with the previous times this stuff has happened, I ain't riskin 200 bucks on whether or not they try and blame me. |

| 1187331 | 2011-03-18 09:53:00 | Have you tried actual KNOWN good working modems ? Belkin are heaps of crap - the amount of them I have seen failing or causing all sorts of problems is unbelivable. Normally if someone is having issues, and have belkin's thats the first thing I change to check whats wrong. (I carry a couple of spares in the car of various brands) |

| 1187332 | 2011-03-18 10:11:00 | My huawei works, and gives me similar results in a speed test. I'm aware it's not the most fantastic thing either but I do know it works. I am actually planning to get a new router at some point. The belkin has a tendency to overheat and throw a shitty. Then again if I'd known that I could have simply saved my cash and bought a better modem two modems ago and saved myself a hundred bucks. (that said, It'll come in handy because I'll use it to put my xbox online) I just forget the name of the netgear N router that chilling recommended me. It's like $150 from PB tech or something. But that'll be coming in a few weeks. |
