1148200 2010-10-28 00:38:00 Yeah I've used chntpw a few times from sysrescuecd, saved my bacon on multiple occasions :) Chilling_Silence (9)
1148201 2010-10-28 01:34:00 I love rainbow tables. Now that's an interesting statement. What possible legitimate use could you have for rainbow tables? They're huge, and only useful for one thing. Erayd (23)
1148202 2010-10-28 01:42:00 Why I never! I only ever use them to recover my own password! How dare you!

I refuse to accept that you'd download tens or hundreds of GB worth of rainbow tables simply to recover your own password when you can reset it in a couple of minutes anyway.

Who said I downloaded them?

That's right, I made them myself! All 20.3Gb of them!

Got a few different types too, MD4, MD5, SHA1, NTLM, and plain old LM.

The MD4 one was a bit of a waste though, it's not hard to write up a quick collision-finder that'll get a plaintext in a couple of minutes.

1148206 2010-10-28 01:58:00 Of course, because you have multiple passwords on different PC's using varying hashing / encryption methods... Chilling_Silence (9)
