| 1188762 | 2011-03-24 05:10:00 | There is a way to fix them but most people opt to buy a new machine instead. Details? :pf1mobmini: |

| 1188763 | 2011-03-24 05:16:00 | I assume it involves reflowing of the GPU solder joints either with hot air rework or in a reflow oven, or outright replacement of the GPU (and no doubt use of the same equipment anyway) | Agent_24 (57) | ||
| 1188764 | 2011-03-24 06:03:00 | Did you manage to get a number for the temperature? I need to fix mine too. Might clean it. I stopped the fan cos it's noisy and the temp hit over 80 :p was sitting in table in the sun. But now with blinds drawn, without the fan it hovers under 70 - good/bad? What's the ok region for laptops? One thing I do find is that if I use a utility and put the fan to the fastest speed - it still doesn't have much air coming out but I do hear the fan going ........ |

| 1188767 | 2011-03-24 21:07:00 | Doesn't have the nvidia grahics chip does it? It has the ATI Graphics chip in it.... Keep it elevated to allow air flow, also apparently some had problems with thermal paste, try re applying it This has thermal pads rather than thermal paste. The pads look like they are in good condition (no cracking etc). |
