Makes for very interesting reading.

Load of bollocks.
Try getting onto the beach in some places where the land is owned either by kiwis or foreigners.

www.nzcpr.com

Or not. Your choice.

1150192 2010-11-04 09:19:00 One good rant it is. I'll make up my own mind if/when I read the full text of the bill/act/whatever its proper name is.

But I like the comment 'This isn't about mana, its about money'.

Pretty much sums up a lot of maori claims IMO. I saw one piece on the licensing of radio spectrum for Freeview HD broadcasts, and some fella said that the spectrum was mana, and that maori had rights over it!

Some people need a good kick up the arse.

Gobe1Good grief, that is a *very* disingenuous advertisement. This (legislation.govt.nz) is the legislation in question - might I suggest you read it rather than blindly following Coastal Coalition's political agenda?

I have no intention of spamming my friends and family with a document full of weasel-words that is designed to substantially twist the truth and push a particular viewpoint.

1150194 2010-11-04 19:04:00 Fair enough everyone is allowed their own opinion on anything
I like what the Coastal Coalition have written and believe it is a worst case scenario (or is it?), but also underlines a few fundamental things people of NZ should know about this

EDIT: My vote is status quo

Who else could it belong to?

The "government" is us (kiwis) .

"Maori" is us (kiwis), albeit a subset of a somewhat larger group .

Or are you suggesting that maori are not kiwis?

Anything else falls into the category of "foreigners"

Gobe1Mmm, everyone's entitled to their own opinion I guess. My issue with CC isn't the point they're trying to make (although I do disagree with them), but how they're making it - that ad twists the facts so far it's not funny. If they're going to oppose something with that kind of advertising, they should at least be truthful.

I used "kiwi" rather than "pakeha" but I take your point .
Anyway, just to stir the pot, I'm tempted to comment that I'm not barred from the beach so my Maori daughters assure me .
