Will wait for him because he'll put it better.

Kind of hard to dump citizens back to their home country

If not though, then for sure.
We also need stronger sentences in NZ. No-one gets much here unless it's murder, and then that can be a slap on the wrist too.

1461525 2019-06-15 03:14:00 If I migrated to a another country I would do the following:

Dress like the locals do
Give myself a local common nickname like Trev in NZ
Never ever at any time crticise the elected government
Obey the laws of the land and expect to get my a rse booted out of the country for breaking them
Be culturally aware and dont do things that piss off the locals
Learn the local language and never use English in earshot of the locals

1461526 2019-06-15 10:33:00 Imprisonment in NZ for the max term our pansy courts will allow, followed by deportation.

Any law abiding family members have the option to stay or go, but any with any convictions for serious crimes get 'exported'.

Play by the rules, or pay the price. Not negotiable.

My mum did that.
Englished her name.
Didn't speak her language to us, didn't hang out exclusively with others from her country.

She regrets it now as she can't think in her language now and has to really concentrate to speak it.

I don't have an issue with people keeping their original name so long as it doesn't sound rude or something in English.
Or speaking their language, so long as they include you in the conversation if you are supposed to be in it.

1461528 2019-06-15 22:45:00 Or as has been said before many times: "When in Rome do as the Romans do", my grandmother told me this when I was a child, I didn't fully appreciate what good advice it was until I got a lot older. zqwerty (97)
