| 1458701 | 2019-03-04 08:44:00 | Trying to bring up Slashdot I get the above message, the unsupported protocol is RC4, as it says is insecure. I'm on XP and wondered if that had anything to do with it? |

| 1458703 | 2019-03-04 10:00:00 | I've been given a computer from a friend we helped out. I think I'll load up Linux and give that a go. XP has been good for me, lots of learning, and the odd scare now and then, it still runs well, or we might be both slowing down together ? | Laggard (17509) | ||

If they are older machines without 4gb or more of RAM it would pay to try one of the lighter Linux versions, maybe MINT XFCE for example - not the lightest but also one of the easier ones to just pick up and use. |

| 1458705 | 2019-03-05 22:01:00 | Thanks Dugi Iv'e played around with Linux a few years ago and was reasonably impressed, but decided to stick with XP for some of the games I have, plus my familiarity with it. I'll us XP as a backup and for stuff I can't do on Linux. The gift computer is reasonably new so will be no problems. |
