Stupid me forgot to write down/ save the password. I have spent days trying to remember the password but nothing works. I now need these files but apart from a brute force attack is there any other way to loose the password. Please help | fnphoto (2434) | ||

Today I rely on the good services of wai on here and he's 2nd to none for advice. Geee no pressure LOL :lol: Just created a .rar file, password protected it. Then went looking. MANY take ages or say it not protected. Found the following program (online scan) and it got the password within 4 minutes www.lostmypass.com It depends on how good / complicated the password is, I used a simple one, so worth a try, scroll down to "get started" and follow instructions. | 1458337 | 2019-02-17 20:45:00 | Password recovery for rar files depends on how long the password is and how complicated it is. Last I tried to "crack" a password, anything 8 chars and under could be done in a reasonable time. Anything over that, you were looking at days, weeks or months. |

Fortunately, RAR password is more likely to be cracked as the encryption is much weaker than others like Excel (128 AES).
