| 1458178 | 2019-02-13 06:59:00 | Windows 10 on HP 8200 Elite Small Form Factor. Has been working for months then two days ago it started chirping every 30 seconds (a tiny beep from the hidden speaker inside). I thought maybe telling me battery has gone flat. Installed new CR2032 and still chirps. On reboot it now says operating system not found but if I immediately reboot again it boots into Windows 10 and all is well, except for cheep every 30 seconds. I removed the CR2032 and the PC still chirps, even after it is switched off! | coldot (6847) | ||

Could be Hard Drive, motherboard failing somewhere, could be USB ports losing contact with what ever is plugged in. Got an old HP here that doesn't like wireless mice, so have to use a wired. Open the device manager to see if everything is as it should be, can also be damaged drivers and windows trying to sort it but cant. Could be something running in the background, but normally any OS related sounds don't use the internal speakers unless there are no other speakers attached. Not enough information given really. PC still chirps, even after it is switched off! That would indicate a hardware problem as the OS is not running. Once I had a real annoying "chirping" couldn't find it at first, days later when I did it was dhurrrrrrrrr. It was a old smoke detector under the workbench, battery had gone flat, but sounded like it was coming from one of the computers. |

I'm deaf in one ear so I don't have 3dimensional hearing. I should have called in family to listen yesterday. The poor old PC doesn't know why it was being smothered with a pillow to keep it quiet. | coldot (6847) | ||
| 1458181 | 2019-02-14 01:24:00 | It happens, :D the old smoke alarm I had, had fallen on the ground behind the computer, so by listening for all intense purposes it sounded like it was coming from the computer. | wainuitech (129) | ||
