1458141 2019-02-10 04:23:00 I have this set of instructions and I am afraid to mess things up badly .

Open terminal (CTRL + ALT + T) and edit '/etc/default/grub' .
Now whenever you will boot your computer, you don't need to press down arrow key to your primary OS . It'll be booting automatically .

Now you can set the default OS with the following command followed by the number of the entry in the grub menu .

$ sudo update-grub

I do not fully understand the instructions and I can't seem to find which truly IS the distro line in GRUB that I want as there are multiples of linux lines there .

Help .

1458142 2019-02-10 04:46:00 Looks like half the instructions are missing.

I'm no expert of GRUB, but the following looks more like something I would try ( read the complete article). OR wait until the linux experts are here. (theres only a couple of them) ;)

1458143 2019-02-10 05:05:00 Kinda what I thought .

I just dumped the current repositories for new, faster ones and got a message that told me I needed faster repositories .

I got new ones, checked REFRESH and wnet ahead and updated all that I was allowed to update .

The RED CONDEMNATIONS are gone --- and I'll try to look at what you sent . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
