1458043 2019-02-12 23:45:00 Use your package manager to find the kernel packages (usually linux-image-XX-blah...) and purge (or "mark for complete removal"). fred_fish (15241)
1458044 2019-02-13 03:22:00 Good grief! There's 303 of them.... which ones do I vaporize? SurferJoe46 (51)
1458045 2019-02-13 03:33:00 Here's the top of the list:

Linux kernel image for version 3.13.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP

This package contains the Linux kernel image for version 3.13.0 on
64 bit x86 SMP.

Also includes the corresponding System.map file, the modules built by the
packager, and scripts that try to ensure that the system is not left in an
unbootable state after an update.

Supports Generic processors.

Geared toward desktop and server systems.

You likely do not want to install this package directly. Instead, install
the linux-generic meta-package, which will ensure that upgrades work
correctly, and that supporting packages are also installed.

........ and now here's the last on the list:

Linux kernel image for version 4.15.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP

This package contains the unsigned Linux kernel image for version 4.15.0 on
64 bit x86 SMP.

Supports Azure processors.

Geared toward Azure systems.

You likely do not want to install this package directly. Instead, install
the linux-azure meta-package, which will ensure that upgrades work
correctly, and that supporting packages are also installed.

There 301 of these in between................... some have green check marks on them.............. like this one;

Linux kernel image for version 3.19.0 on 64 bit x86 SMP

This package contains the Linux kernel image for version 3.19.0 on
64 bit x86 SMP.

Also includes the corresponding System.map file, the modules built by the
packager, and scripts that try to ensure that the system is not left in an
unbootable state after an update.

The installed ones that you don't want - presumably the green tick ones, and to check, the version numbers should match your boot list entries.

1458048 2019-02-15 07:10:00 You should be able to filter on just the installed ones. fred_fish (15241)
1458049 2019-02-15 07:58:00 OK --- that's for later on today --- since it's already tomorrow here in Montana.

It's 00:59 right now and I'm pooped with all the wet snow we got today and the wood cutting, splitting and stacking I've gotta do at 10:00 later this morning.

Nite for now..... and thanks for being so patient.
