If you google your question it come back with many answers, some very confusing. One for example is Hashtags were originally created as a way to promote content in Tweets. Once you put a '#' in front of a word, it automatically becomes a link that takes you to a page where other people have hashtagged the same thing. ... People also use hashtags to describe their mood/day with humor. When you put a hashtag on something it creates a link - read all about it smallbiztrends.com BUT many people put hash tags on a phrase or a reply / statement and it goes nowhere. |

| 1460983 | 2019-05-27 02:27:00 | A hashtag is for grouping messages of a certain topic on social media (twitter etc). Ie #eqnz - this hashtag is used for any comment or notification of earthquakes. Companies will use it when trying to get people to talk about their crap. |
