1151876 2010-11-10 09:08:00 Yes yes, I know e-day was last Saturday - and I missed it. What are my options of disposing an old laptop? The screen no longer functions, and I have already salvaged the HDD and RAM modules. Renmoo (66)
1151877 2010-11-10 10:20:00 RCN deals with that sort of thing but I don't know much more than that. Just chucking it in your rubbish is a possibility. roddy_boy (4115)
1151878 2010-11-10 11:46:00 Store it until next eDay? Snorkbox (15764)
1151879 2010-11-10 19:01:00 Not possible for me to bring it along to Napier! :p Renmoo (66)

1151882 2010-11-11 04:32:00 ASUS Z92T laptop. Screen is currently not working. I have removed the HDD and RAM modules. The battery can barely hold any charge. Renmoo (66)
1151883 2010-11-11 05:42:00 What a joke this program is!

If they could show us what happens to the items I could get enthuistiac about it.

They probably put it on a ship and send it to China to some back yard place that uses young children to strip the gold and lead.

NZ is too small to recycle.

1151885 2010-11-12 03:24:00 I have just returned from recycling the old machine at the said place.

They have got three big boxes clearly labeled with what computer gadgets to go where (Box 1 = PC/Laptops, Box 2 = Printers / Scanners etc, Box 3 = Something else). Quite systematic.
