1151794 2010-11-10 01:09:00 How come we arent allowed these?
The size is no bigger than normal avatars

1151795 2010-11-10 01:26:00 They can give flicker-induced seizures if inappropriately used.

Jokes aside, good question.

1151796 2010-11-10 01:50:00 Coz mostly people use pictures of Mario humping Peach, and static ones seem to suffice :)

Unless they add some additional "benefit" I'm not aware of, it's probably best to stick with static images for now :)

1151798 2010-11-10 02:04:00 They are not conducive to Migraines either. Pato (2463)
1151799 2010-11-10 02:58:00 Potentially, but you're able to disable avatars on your own account if you choose to do-so, so surely if you're aware you suffer from epilepsy or migraines that are set on by those things, if you frequent a forum it'd make sense to disable them.

Mostly, personally, I think it's because they add little value aside from the "Cool" factor, but it's then just something additional for us to police and have to worry about ;)

1151800 2010-11-10 03:06:00 Animated avatars are a good idea, as long as they are not deliberately going against forum rules goodiesguy (15316)
1151801 2010-11-10 03:16:00 Speedy would be so speedy we'd never see him :D SP8's (9836)

1151803 2010-11-10 04:26:00 Yeah, that's a good point, which is why most forums (Dunno about vBulletin) let you disable animated avatars only, as well as "all" avatars :) Chilling_Silence (9)
