1150914 2010-11-07 05:44:00 I was just wondering what other people thought.

First we have The Who and a poster (www.imagef1.net.nz) promoting their 1979 released Rocumentary “The Kids are Alright (en.wikipedia.org)”, though I think the actual photo could easily have been taken at least 10 years before that. ("Most rock films are pretentious. They're made for the sole purpose of making Robert Plant's d*#k look big. This is totally the opposite. Within the first half hour we're made to look like complete idiots." – Roger Daltrey)

Second is a picture (www.imagef1.net.nz)of Shihad that appeared in 19-25 September 2010 copy of the “View” magazine that came with the New Zealand Herald.

So, was whoever mad the decision hoping no one would remember a photo from 30-40 years ago, or was it a tribute to the undoubted influence of Townshend and The Who?

1150915 2010-11-07 06:28:00 looks like a big rip off to me but then you have to remember Imitation is the best form of flattery gary67 (56)
1150916 2010-11-07 06:45:00 Hopefully a tribute - Townsend and the Who were very influential.. still are in some circles :) SoniKalien (792)
1150917 2010-11-07 08:09:00 Hey look how many times Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band or Abbey Rd covers have been copied - its a real tribute to the original band not a rip off Paul Ramon (11806)
1150918 2010-11-07 08:53:00 Definitely a tribute/homage, they have done these type of photos and videos throughout their career, even one of their vids is based on the clockwork orange movie which is one of the bands fave movies.
The Who is still very respected and influential.

1150919 2010-11-09 00:03:00 Wooo, Yeeaaah The Who Are Awewsome!
Sorry, just had to let that out.

I think that it is a tribute to The Who and its good that bands today are remebering the bands that shaped there music.

It was very well done too. :punk
