| 1189538 | 2011-04-29 10:35:00 | No ones idiots --Please explain why it happens then. Most of the time, peopel upgrade ( if you call it that) from a previous version and some of the time theres problems. OK all you FF fans explain this - I have tried it on 4 different PC's tonight all with FF4, and all do the same thing, and two appear to have no problems with FF4. ones even a customers PC. The problem -- I have tried to download Ubuntu 11.04 - on all three - different times, they hang on the downloads, or take at least 5 minutes to connect to the download -- on ANY other browser they will open a download box within 4 seconds no problems ?????????? FF4 is causing the problem - other browsers are fine (chrome - IE, Opera and a earlier version of FF) Just tried it as well in a VM that has an earlier FF 3.6 and thats almost instant ??????? And mike --- I dont have any problems with earlier versions of FF - its only 4 that I have seen lots of problems, thats why I put back 3.6 and the problems disappear. Please explain why then I'm having the problem with the downloads, since you appear to know so much about V4 ????? BTW - do a google search, and you'll see lots of people are have similar freeze ups. |

| 1189539 | 2011-04-29 11:10:00 | @ Mike ----Read these (www.product-reviews.net) - all similar to what I have seen. No problems ? eh or idiots as you put it. Thats one of several sites with complaints. The current last reply is exactly what I have been doing as well: Until FF4 has been round long enough for the initial bugs to be sorted in auto-upgrades, I wouldn't recommend as have experienced many of the problems previously mentioned by other users ... have rolled back to 3.6 and am happy browsing again !!! |

| 1189541 | 2011-04-29 12:01:00 | So far for the add ons, the majority only have the "standard" ones, Java, Adobe add ons, ( flash/shockwave) as for the two that I have here that play up, they simply have the above mentioned - nothing fancy . My sons PC, has FF4, that has so many damn add ons its not funny, yet its stable, although he does complain some sites take longer to load than they did in 3 . 6 . (and his PC is not short of power) . SWMBO - her's -- she refused to use FF4 after a few days, had to put 3 . 6 back . On average, I get approx 10-12 service calls a week, ever since FF4 came out, at a guess I'd say 1/4 have been problems with Version 4 in some way or another, some calls from previous customers, some from new people, prier to that, v 3 . 6 -- no problems at all . Prier to V4, I would actually advise to use FF - not currently though . Did you read that last post - the link (post 23) ? -- couple of lines in the second to last post: by the looks of the message boards around the internet I'm assuming a problem experienced by thousands of people will have to get fixed in a future version . all basically the same problem . FF 3 . 6 works perfectly with 99% of downloads, FF 4 1/2 the times either hangs or times out - other browsers, no problems . When looking at the crash reports on mine, the majority are adobe flash crashing, but without it, most of the sites dont load correctly, every thing is fully upto date, uninstalled fully, reinstalled makes no difference . Version 4 is coming out of this tomorrow, I'll put back 3 . 6 - that was stable . Re: "First it is four and then it is three . " -------- please include the whole story, if you look I said one was a VM, so basically its acting a separate PC in a sense - This is XP mode on mine, with 3 . 6 - main PC W7 with 4 - sorry should have made that more clear . |

| 1189543 | 2011-04-29 12:10:00 | Its a browser, In the grand scheme of things its like a pair of shoes, not worth a mention unless causing pain. And the fix is easier then crying about it. |
