Modular means you can add cables as required rather than the whole lot being permanently attached to the PSU.

Aywun - crap, forget it.

1189938 2011-03-29 00:55:00 Corsair are a good brand, to give you some idea of cost, use the prices onAscents site (www.ascent.co.nz) as a rough guide - scroll down to the PSU's.

Old story, quality costs more.

Modular helps with cable management. Rather than tying off cables you don't need and having them possibly interupting air flow through the case you only plug in what you need.

Not heard of AYWUN and have not yet had to replace one.

1189940 2011-03-29 01:07:00 Have you guys heard of 80+?

www.plugloadsolutions.com

Where it shows the PSU that are certified and have gone through testing to see whether they run efficiently

Hmm, did you look at the 115v or the 230v one though?

Also, there are a few good brands that are not listed there at all. I certainly wouldn't buy a PSU solely from looking a that list.

1189942 2011-03-29 01:48:00 Corsair's HX650 is modular & 80+ Bronze certified. The HX750/850 are 80+ Silver and the AX series are 80+ Gold. inphinity (7274)
1189943 2011-03-29 02:38:00 hmm the case costs $177. What's consider not cheap?lol

If it comes with the case, it's cheap. But there are rare curcumstances where you might actually get a good PSU. The are probably considered "bundles" not freebies though. They would be most likely well above the cost of your case.

Aywun - Crappy. Had a 450w started to whine after about 1 week of use. their $50 psu's are not even worth your time.

BTW I spent almost the same on my PSU as you did for your case and psu.

1189944 2011-03-29 04:38:00 Hmm Computer lounge says the Coolermaster 430 case + Bundled PSU is adequate but gave me an alternative option Antec 300 + a Seasonic 520W and all the specs for $1599

Pctronix offered me the coolermaster + The bundled psu for $1500NZ . They said that the graphics + cpu might pull 400w then you have the ram, motherboard, dvd writer etc might push the PSU a bit too much.

Coolermaster + Aywun = $1650

They both include Windows 7 OEM.

Uh. but both company says Raidmax is bad.

Hmmm...?Who to go.lol

1189945 2011-03-29 04:45:00 Ummmm. Why not get the case you want and ask them to supply a Corsair PSU with the case. Trade in the PSU that comes with it. It's what I did. Snorkbox (15764)
