| 1151649 | 2010-11-10 04:19:00 | The Vid's all over the TV here - and you can see the single burner in the back of what is obviously a rocket of some sort. One 'scientist' said it's just a big plane take off from LAX. Yup - I'll buy that one! Uh huh. If it's a privateer rocket - IT'S BIG! --- or WAS big. Since it was climbing, the theory of it being a re-entry of some sort is also wrong. There are a lot of missiles shot off from Vandenberg AFB (en.wikipedia.org)- just up the coast, and I've seen a great number of re-entries by the first and second stages all the time. They even try to time the launches at sunset so the sun lights them up really pretty. Ya gotta get something for your tax dollars even if it's only fireworks! lol. The first one I ever saw was around X-Mas/1963 in Huntington Beach - right on the Pacific Ocean where there was a very unobstructed view. Awesome! But this was CLIMBING, not falling, as this one too, was climbing. |
