2010-11-08 22:36:00 | No system is 100% foolproof True, but for once, Id like to see an ISP quickly update the network status page/ph message , rather than wait 1/2 day. And dont hide the network status page.... I have to use google to find it..wtf !!!!

2010-11-09 00:38:00 | Its back up and going now anyway -- had over 20 calls from customers since 6 pm last night saying their email is not working -- I should have made a recording, saying it not them its Telstra :waughh: | wainuitech (129) | |
2010-11-09 03:02:00 | Well, actually it isn't up and going down here. My email client connects to the POP3 server and says there are no messages there. In fact there are email messages and attachments somewhere between me and the sender, but they are not being picked up by Outlook. One client who has urgent need of my work this afternoon is sending emails to my gmail account (which I normally use just as a throw away email address for any international websites where I have to supply an address but which I don't trust to keep my real address private). Gmail is working fine, but somewhere Telstra/Paradise is losing my incoming emails. Don't assume that because you seem to be connecting to the POP3 server that things are up and working again...

Starting to sound very much like the Orcon episode. |

2010-11-09 04:00:00 | I notice that Stuff is saying that Telstra is claiming that it is fixed, and in the past half hour I have received one email. Stuff says: 'TelstraClear said it had restored email services to all customers following a nationwide outage since yesterday. A backlog of queued email was now being cleared. 'It had yet to confirm no email had been lost, but this was not anticipated.' Well, I have only received two emails in the past 24 hours, which is way out of whack with what I normally get, and I know for certain that at least two emails that were sent this afternoon have not arrived.

2010-11-09 04:33:00 | It is normal when a mail server goes down for all the queued messages to take several hours to be processed after it is working again. | Safari (3993) | |
