1190269 2011-03-29 12:30:00 is it possible to get the full free version of a game by downloading it? i've tried numerous sites and downloads. i've downloaded like ten different programs trying to get a game downloaded right and get the full version and i ended up just having to delete the software and game file because they wouldn't work or i got warnings from my virus software saying that a trojan horse virus was trying to infect my computer. i've tried so many sites and i've downloaded the game like 20 times from different sites and none work :( i've spent countless hours trying to figure this out and trying to figure out how to use the software like bittorrent, daemon tools, and winzip. does anyone know of a good site that will give me the right download that will work and have it be the full version of the game? preferrably free since i don't have a credit card to pay for this otherwise i wouldn't be in this situation (plus i wouldn't trust putting my credit card info. on the web with so many hackers and tracking viruses on the web these days) any help would be greatly appreciated thanks. lankenjl (16306)
1190270 2011-03-29 17:48:00 You're asking how to steal games????!!
And complaining about viruses? No you can't, the only kind of legit download you can do is say, a Steam Game where you purchase it via Steam then download.

But pirated?? Sucker, of course it doesn't work/has malware.

get a job.

1190271 2011-03-29 18:31:00 first of all i'm not asking how to steal games. i had my version of the game something messed up with the disc and it's not working so i'm trying to figure out how to get the game back without the disc and not deal with the lousy one hour trial. second im not complaining about viruses i was just stating that some the programs that people have said were safe were actually trying to infect my computer with viruses. third yes there is a way to get the full free version of the game by just downloading it otherwise there wouldn't be thousands of links, videos, sites, programs that are posted on the internet. four f off you don't know anything about me so you don't know if i have a job or not so don't tell me to get a job. all i said is that i don't have a credit card to use for this. i think credit cards are a dumb idea. why would i pay to carry around a piece of plastic that im gonna be paying more money in interest for it than what i actually used. so since you don't know a damn thing about me you should just back off and don't judge people you know nothing about. lankenjl (16306)
1190272 2011-03-29 18:47:00 What's the game ?
And have you tried repairing the disk?
Just because there are a lot of links doesn't mean it's freely available, as you have experienced many of them are fake or malware etc. If you want to download free stuff try reputable sites like CNET/Download.com

Also credit cards if used right can save you money and allow you to buy things online :)
(no eftpos fees, no interest if paid off every month) I use mine in conjunction with a revovling credit mortgage to save me interest.

Lastly, settle down guys no need for personal attacks.

1190273 2011-03-29 19:04:00 You only pay interest on a credit card if you don't pay it off each month, however the newer vida debit cards don't incur interest as they take money from your bank account and you can use them anywhere you would normally use a credit card gary67 (56)

I presume your kidding, but no one here should tell him where to download clean pirated software :P

1190275 2011-03-29 20:06:00 "because i scratched my disc"

looooooool

If you have the disc, you presumably paid money for it. If you paid for it, why would it be available to download for free online.

1190276 2011-03-29 21:00:00 Can you email or phone the game company and tell them what has happened and give them your registration details for it? The ones you have originally set the game up from the cd with? (Hopefully you saved them somewhere?)

A similar thing happened to my son with a prrogram he purchased online from DAZ 3D. He had lost the details when his computer crashed once. He emailed them and gave as many details as he could and then they re-activated it for him.

Last of all, try reading the thread you first posted on here and just see how it could be misconstrued as trying to get a pirated version. It doesn't read well and you didn't explain properly. We are pretty tough on posters requesting illegal assistance.

1190277 2011-03-29 21:17:00 I broke one of the Baldurs Gate 2 discs from playing it far too much so I wrote a letter to Black Isle Studios and they replaced it free of charge. DeSade (984)
1190278 2011-03-29 21:56:00 actually given that he has one thread saying he has a disk but doesn't want to use it and another thread asking how to dowload a game he doesn't have a working disk for it's starting to seem very dodgy.

Scratched disks can be repaired almost always, or replaced in some cases. Having to have the original in the drive to play a game is to protect the game developers. Commercial games you have to pay for can not be downloaded for free. These are the facts, live with them.
