1153604 2010-11-16 21:54:00 Much as I am a bit centre right I was not very impressed by Chris Finlayson the Atorney General on tv last night saying he would not meet the Maori protesters up north and that they could "go to hell" .

I can understand him saying he would not meet them.

But to say on live tv that they can "go to hell" (his exact words) is not a very good look from a senior government member. That is stooping to Hone's style.

I also find him very pompous and find his explanations of the foreshore and sea bid very confusing.

:lol::lol::lol:

Unfortunately just because something is legal doesn't make it "right".

1153607 2010-11-16 22:19:00 Good on him, I say.

With luck, he may be the thin end of the wedge that leads to a groundswell of ordinary Kiwis telling these idiot protestor types to p*ss off and go through proper channels.

1153608 2010-11-16 22:19:00 I give him 10/10. :thumbs:

Somebody should have had the gonads to tell them that years ago although I could have made it fractionally clearer. ;)

1153609 2010-11-16 22:36:00 I agree with his sentiments.

I don't think that it is about being PC. Who cares about PC? What a load of rubbish! But I don't believe he should say that sort of thing on TV about anyone.

So far as those idiotic protesters are concerned, I wonder why they, all of a sudden it seems, decided that the land at Taipa was theirs.

If it is theirs, why are they only protesting now? Why was not someone protesting say, 100 years ago?

It really sounds as though there are some people up north (the unemployment capital of the country) who have too much time on their hands.

Tell them to go to hell, certainly, but do it a bit more diplomatically.

Yes, we shouldn’t loose sight of the fact that he’s right behind the Coast and Seabed giveaway.

Maybe we should be equally blunt with him. :angry

No point in him dying not knowing what we think of him. ;)
