Some may be being 'tricked' into paying for totally unrelated software off the website that has the viewer software download. ??? any confirmation on this ?? |

| 1153279 | 2010-11-16 03:44:00 | I normally download as a CSV and open in Excel. It offers MYOB and Quicken files, Rural Cash manager or Money files or CSV. Hence, I think, the possible confusion. You can get a free Excel viewer. |

Some of these sites are setup so the easily confused will download the wrong thing (ie the ad's & linked pay software) The person in question somehow was duped into buying some unrelated software. Cheers. Have you tried the process? Adobe did not redirect me but the download page opened as a pop-up that wasn't full screen and the optional download of a free McAfee virus scan program wasn't obvious. When you click download for the reader you get both unless you've deselected McAfee. I didn't bother seeing if the virus scan app tried to sell another version. |
