1152693 2010-11-14 09:25:00 Can anyone give me any info regarding pros and/or cons of either of these vendors? johcar (6283)
1152694 2010-11-15 01:01:00 No-one?

I have heard that MYOB don't offer very good customer support (I'm sure there was a thread here a while ago about this), but thought there might be someone who uses their online product that could offer some insights....

1152695 2010-11-15 01:15:00 Well... I've known about MYOB for a long time now. I've never heard of Xero.

Does that help? :p

1152696 2010-11-15 01:38:00 Not so as you'd notice.... :D johcar (6283)
1152697 2010-11-15 01:41:00 MYOB offer email and LiveChat support for Live Accounts.
I have no idea what Xero offer.

1152698 2010-11-15 01:47:00 Maybe I should clarify - I'm looking more for the effectiveness of the support each vendor offers rather than the channels by which it's delivered....

As I mentioned earlier, I had read that there were issues with the MYOB product that were causing many users to go elsewhere because MYOB could not (or would not) resolve said issues.

I am trying to establish whether this situation may have changed and was also reflected in their new online offering...

1152699 2010-11-15 01:57:00 What you read may be related back to a earlier failed product call Business Basics Online.
Live Accounts has none of the problems that BBO had, that is not to say its perfect however.

I know the guys on the LiveChat support and they are good at what they do with strong knowledge levels.

1152700 2010-11-15 01:59:00 I've had a few very good experiences with MYOB support in the past, never dealt with Xero at all so I wouldn't know. wratterus (105)
1152701 2010-11-15 02:06:00 Thanks - that's the reassurance I was hoping for... The MYOB product is half the price of Xero, perhaps because the investors in Xero (Sam Morgan, Rod Drury and the like) want to see a return on their investment sometime soon.... johcar (6283)
1152702 2010-11-15 03:03:00 MYOB is a large company and the online offering is only one egg in the basket.

Xero has one large egg in one basket so if that egg breaks they are screwed.
