1190806 2011-03-31 22:33:00 The IDE controller problem, I also had an issue with that - the newer AMD boards only give 1 IDE channel (if any) so I had to buy a separate card. Got a 1-IDE and 2-SATA port card from eBay for $15 - took 3 weeks to get here but works fine. Uses PCI-E 1x slot.

Yeah, looks likes Ill have to wing that or swap my optical for a drive here at work that uses sata..hehe..

Still trying to work out a combo for mobo and RAM thats on QVL....unbelievability hard! Can find 8Gb at around 200-229, however wont match boards!!!

1190807 2011-04-01 01:10:00 Okay, decided to go with ASRock P67 Pro 3, quite sure its the warranty that different between these guys and their parent company ASUS. The guys in the States are wowing over this series of boards..... SolMiester (139)
1190808 2011-04-01 01:43:00 Anyone using the stock HSF for the 2500k?.....wondering how good it is, as I want to clock up to at least 4, maybe 4.2,4.3!

yep, idles at 35 degrees, prime 95 takes it up to around 70-75.Have not tried overclocking at all so that's at stock. My case airflow is quite good but I do have 2 GTX460's pumping air into the case.

I got the 2500K in case I feel the need to overclock but as this is primarily a game machine that'll only happen if I can't get smooth framerates at stock speeds.

I was considering a cheap cooler master tower cooler and a bit of overclocking, but apart from bragging rights I don't think I'll see a difference.

So, have you used PCforce before? I haven't but I'm always on the lookout for reliable suppliers I can compare against against each other when I'm looking for components.

No, haven't used them before, so throwing the dice!...They have replied promptly to my queries, so will give them the benefit of the doubt...Only thing is no credit card transactions which mean bank deposit!...

When are you going to try OC that SB?, seen a couple of reviews on this board, straight out of the box, 42 x100, 43x and 44x, they got to 47x with 1.4v and a decent air cooler!

1190812 2011-04-01 03:56:00 I couldn't possibly try OC until I've got the LED fixed - seeing as it's so crucial and all:lol:

However, it IS on the agenda.
