| 1191789 | 2011-04-04 02:49:00 | I have been using a 4gb Sd card in my digital photo frame for some time and decided it was time to change the pictures. I put it in the Sd slot of my laptop and it said that it required formatting. It starts the format and progresses to about ⅞ then stops saying that Windows is unable to complete the format. I now have a, seemingly, useless Sd card. Is there any way that I can get around this and format the card successfully? Thanks for your help. |

| 1191795 | 2011-04-04 04:24:00 | You could try a "proper" SD card formatter e.g. Panasonic SD/SDHC/SDXC Memory Cards Format Software (panasonic.jp) HP USB Disk Storage Format Tool (download.cnet.com) Fat32Formatter (tokiwa.qee.jp) PQI USB Flash drive Formatter (www.pqi.com.tw(4).exe) Edit. MAKE SURE YOU FORMAT THE CORRECT DRIVE :devil |

| 1191797 | 2011-04-04 12:14:00 | From the instructions for a Panasonic SD card I bought recently - "This card is formatted to the SD card standard. If reformatting is ever necessary format it using SD compatible equipment or SD formatting software. Formatting the card with any other software will make the card nonstandard and cause problems with compatibility and performance. For a free version of SD formatting software ... " panasonic.jp This may be the Panasonic one Scubadoo referred to. |
