| 1154909 | 2010-11-20 16:21:00 | What is the best anti virus software to get? I am getting a new Dell laptop. I am spending about $1,400 on it and want to make sure it last and remains fast. I want to get a good anti virus software for it but don't want it to slow my computer down, but I do want it to fully protect my laptop from viruses and hackers. I am willing to pay money for it so whatever the best anti virus there is is what I want. I will have windows 7 professional on it as well. |

| 1154911 | 2010-11-20 18:28:00 | NOD32 which is not free. MS SE is 2nd best for free. In addition to that you will need at least 2 anti-spywares. Spybot plus Malware Bytes or Supaerantispyware. |

Second those suggestions. Many Techs see crap AV's every day that are meant to be the "best". The only two I usually see that dont have problems are Nod & MSSE in that order. Both use very little system resources as well. |

| 1154914 | 2010-11-20 21:25:00 | Microsoft have come a long way in the AV business since the onecare days. Security Essentials is pretty good & Eset NOD32 is even better, but no anti-virus app is perfect. I see the occasional computer running NOD32 get infected, but nowhere near as often as the other major AV vendors. |
