1155261 2010-11-22 07:02:00 I imagine I will get used to it in time, but at the moment it looks retarded. xyz823 (13649)
1155262 2010-11-22 07:06:00 Just came across something. Found it in the facebook sharer link, pops up if you remove all the arguments from the url; pcworld.co.nz ubergeek85 (131)

It looks almost identical to almost all other forums now, you're just used to the "wrong" design. See here:

How does that look? About 2-300 pixels from the left before the thread / post content begins? Look about right? About the same as PF1 is now? I thought so too ...

1155264 2010-11-22 09:03:00 The bigger ads on the right tend to draw you to look that way >>>> Spose you could say they are working.

One thing is very clear - PC World NZ are basically copying the real PC World in their forum layout / pages, with the biggest difference being PCWorld have only one ad not a barrage of them. PCworldNZ Forum index (www.imagef1.net.nz) and PCworld forum index (www.imagef1.net.nz) -- Now a thread -- NZ clutter (www.imagef1.net.nz) compared to Their one and only Ad (www.imagef1.net.nz) I'v just looked on the Real PCworld site, and that one ad is all they have on the pages apart from a few smaller ones that are hardly noticeable in the banner.

I've just walked in at 9.35pm from doing a job at a customers place.

They have a 24" Screen ( mines 22"), so I asked if I could look at this site.

They had not been to PF1 for several years and their comments were :yuck: How the hell can you work on a site with those distractions.

Just a curious question chill ---
It looks almost identical to almost all other forums now, you're just used to the "wrong" design. Why is it then, your own blog site along with the link to kiwiLan centered-or are they wrong too ??

1155266 2010-11-22 09:47:00 Other forums I'm with, lately seem to be adding bold box ads, I guess in a strive for income. Though I think such ads might be based on referral type and/or impressions (rather than search engine targeted pay per click) which generally pay very little. But are distracting (like the Jackie Chan one), though sometimes some good targeted offers from local computer NZ advertisers. Made me click. kahawai chaser (3545)
