This is what i see in event viewer. Any ideas to narrow down the cause? This is a pretty new laptop...and i cant afford to send it into servicing now.I've moved this post into this thread. Please keep related posts together as it only causes more work for those trying to help you.

1192289 2011-04-15 08:06:00 Whats the specs of this laptop? And whats the model / brand?

Everything seems to point to faulty hardware / maybe CPU / over clocking / overheating. If its new I would take it back. I would if it can get into windows, run bluescreenview see what it says (www.nirsoft.net)

1192290 2011-04-15 09:40:00 Lenovo Y460P. The laptop just turned off, no BSOD at all.

Bluescreenview though, shows this :
Question (15792)
1192291 2011-04-15 09:54:00 It s a bit small . What file does it say is the cause . Is 124 the only stop error that bluescreenview shows? Its not one of the affected sandybridge systems is it .

I would post your question in the Lenovo forum ( . lenovo . com/lnv/?profile . language=en" target="_blank">forums . lenovo . com)

This should work : imgur.com

They will probably just tell me to send the laptop in for servicing.
Question (15792)
1192293 2011-04-15 10:33:00 You wont know till you ask. They would know more than we would.

But, like I said, its probably a hardware fault anyway. So, you may have to take it back. Not much you can do about it
