| 1192114 | 2011-04-05 07:02:00 | Hi Team Billy Jnr just tried to purchase a Jazz album from the iTunes US website. He was unsuccessful, and it seems that his account only allows purchases from the NZ iTunes store. This sounds rather odd to me, so has anybody else experienced this problem? Before I go ahead and open an account in my name, is there anything I need to know about the process that might let me download it for him? In practical terms, the only difference between he and I is that he uses a Visa Debit card and I use a Visa Credit card, but I don't think he even got that far. Cheers Billy 8-{) :confused: |

| 1192116 | 2011-04-05 07:10:00 | This is generally caused by geographic restrictions on who is allowed to distribute music where, and therefore who gets their hands on the resulting profits. As a rule, you're not supposed to be able to purchase from music stores that don't sell to your country directly, although depending on the store there are often technical loopholes to circumvent these restrictions. |

| 1192119 | 2011-04-05 09:27:00 | Thanks for that. The album is listed on but not available from the NZ site or we would have used it. I haven't found it anywhere else but iTunes U.S. either. We have used proxy systems to get musical instruments from Ebay USA, we actually use the site runs by Kiwis. That was not a good experience though (not the fault of the proxy) the prat of a US seller shipped a Korg synthesiser keyboard in its flimsy shop display packaging which just fell apart and naturally it arrived damaged. Two keys were broken off, but the construction allowed a strong repair with araldite and it's been fine ever since. Cheers Billy 8-{) |
