1191968 2011-04-04 22:32:00 I wish I'd never signed up with Windows Live... I don't use it or any of its services, and I want to expunge all traces of it from my PC. I've un-installed everything that has the words 'Windows Live' in it, but I'm still getting email messages from Windows Live Alerts, a service which I no longer need.

A complicating factor is that I can't sign in - when I try to unsubscribe from Windows Live Alerts via the link in an email message, it tells me my 'email address or password is incorrect', and when I try to reset my password it tells me my 'Windows Live ID is incorrect'! (As it happens, I'm sure I'm using the correct ID and password, but that's by-the-by).

I'd be happy if I could just stop the email alerts.

Of course one option is to set up a rule to trash all mail from [email]alerts@live.com, but it's the principle of the thing that's getting to me!

1191970 2011-04-05 02:35:00 Thanks for that, pctek. Great little piece of software - I've kept it anyway, but unfortunately it didn't fix this problem. I think it's because the sign-on part of WL is on a Microsoft server somewhere, not on my computer. colmack (2939)
1191971 2011-04-05 03:31:00 It removed all of mine - after I'd done the uninstall too - it removed some other bits...... pctek (84)
