| 1193055 | 2011-04-09 07:00:00 | Hi, What are people using to open/view their old Outlook Express mail (.dbx) in Windows 7? I am using MS Office 2010 Outlook (.pst). I have used dbxtract in the past, but the site doesn't list W7 as a supported OS. Cheers. |

| 1193057 | 2011-04-09 07:18:00 | If you use Windows Live mail, it has the option to import .dbx files from Outlook Express. Simply import them. File, Import Messages, Select the folder containing the dbx files, follow on screen instructions -- couldn't be much easier See attachment. Many other email programs have the same options to import dbx files. |

Click Import Internet Mail and Addresses, and then click Next. Click Outlook Express. Select the Import mail check box. Click Next. Click Finish. To save a copy of the import summary to your Inbox, click Save in Inbox. From here (Import Outlook Express messages into Outlook In Outlook, on the File menu, click Import and Export. Yep you can run them side by side - I have Outlook 2010 as my main mail, and Windows live 2011 for Gmail and live mail. ( To many mail accounts I think :eek: ) I often set up peoples Xtra or Paradise/Telstra in Live mail, works nicely :) Only thing you have to do, I find when creating an account, manually enter the server details, and when asked (from memory) don't import your outlook unless you want to - it wont have any negative effect if you do, just means you will have a copy in live mail. |
