| 1192693 | 2011-04-07 06:03:00 | I plugged in the external 500GB USB disk to my Win7 Home Prem machine but it was not shown in My Computer. Went to disk management and found that the disk is 'Offline' - "The disk is offline because it has a signature collision with another disk that is online." But I used it before to back up some data from this Win7 machine. It works fine with another XP machine and I have just reformatted it. But my Win7 machine still not happy with this disk - still showed as offline. What's the story? |

| 1192694 | 2011-04-07 06:14:00 | Right mouse on it and select online. Looks like this can happen with WD hdd's since they use the same ID or something. Hers a similar prob (social.technet.microsoft.com) And another (answers.microsoft.com). |
