1192329 2011-04-06 08:21:00 if its Windows 7 you want, MS used to have a TOOL, but they took it off for some reason, still available From Here (download.cnet.com) though.

OR if any other Windows version 2000, XP etc theres WinsetupfromUSB (www.msfn.org) -- Various builds from older to latest beta's

1192330 2011-04-06 09:55:00 Unetbootin is the best one I have found for Linux systems. Other tools tend to format the drive before adding the files - Unetbootin adds it's stuff to any files that might already be there. You can install the program both in MS Windows and Linux. johnd (85)
1192331 2011-04-06 11:34:00 Helen hasn't said if its even an OS, all thats been given is "Its a bootable ISO " -- thats could also be a Office product ISO, or any other number of ISO's.

The whole question is a little vague as to exactly what the ISO is ?

Not quite sure what you are saying here - how can you "boot" an office program? OSs need to be booted.

1192333 2011-04-06 12:36:00 Flashboot might do what you want (but it's not free) Agent_24 (57)
1192334 2011-04-06 21:00:00 Not quite sure what you are saying here - how can you "boot" an office program? OSs need to be booted. Saying Office may have been a bad example. I got a few bootable CD's here, that are not operating systems as such, they are repair CD's, so while I spose it can be said they are kind of an OS ( minimal), they are not full OS's. WinPE for example.

It has never been mentioned what the bootable ISO is, so lets assume its an OS, we still dont know if its Linux or Windows ??

OK - I see what you are saying - but no matter how much you cut back an OS it is still an OS not (say) an application. It has to have some boot files and a kernel of some kind.
