1157044 2010-11-28 00:52:00 So I'm stumbling through youtube and watching hamish and andy clips, when suddenly the youtube videos stop working (that's another story) so I restart FF, didn't work. I reinstall all adobe products, didn't work. I uninstalled FF (3.6) and then realise I don't have an FF installer on my hdd so I'm forced to use IE to download it.
So I fish through the start menu for IE, and type "firefox download" in the url bar and it shows me the google results. I click the main Firefox link in the search results, as there is no download sub-link under the primary google result, when I get this page:
www.imagef1.net.nz
So it looks like the FF main page has content that can only be displayed in FF... or maybe FF just hates IE? but then why would they stop people using IE from switching to FF? Isn't that what they want?
At first I thought that IE had banned FF's page, but then I read the message again, says it's the website that declined to show the page, not IE

1157045 2010-11-28 00:57:00 anyway, i went back to the google page and clicked on the cached version of the site, which worked. Unfortunately, youtube vids still not working >:( jareemon (5207)
1157046 2010-11-28 07:58:00 I'm really not certain as to why you gave your post a nautical term. "Aye, aye, captain."

What has "aye?" to do with the subject matter? No idea.

As to the subject matter, IE is a dog of a programme and I suspect that you are right when you think that FF hates IE. I'm surprised that anyone in these enlightened times still uses IE! Surely everyone uses Firefox or some other browser besides IE?

There is something wrong with that link as it won't display in any browser.
You only have to go to mozilla.com to get what you want.

Nothing wrong with IE it works fine. I use both IE and Firefox and there is very little difference between the two. They both suffer from problems from time to time. Have you actually used IE 8 or are you still comparing it to older versions that you may have used.

There's a HUGE difference between IE and Firefox - the latter works whereas the former doesn't :D

1157052 2010-11-28 20:19:00 Lots of people use IE instead of Firefox.

Personally I use IE8 , Firefox (mainly for PF1 on because of that script that blocks the ads) and Lunascape - sometimes if I feel like a change, Chrome.

lots of sites still wont work correctly with Firefox - but work as intended with IE.

As for IE not showing the Firefox Download page (www.imagef1.net.nz) -- it works fine.

Since you are having problems with various browsers and youtube That would suggest theres a problem on the PC, not the FF or IE.

In kiwi vernacular 'aye' and 'eh' have very similar pronunciation, sounding more like 'a'.

The nautical version is the phrase 'aye aye' which is sound closer to 'eye eye' (as is aye aye cap'n, damn their eyes! Lower the mainsail and splice me braces etc.................

In essence WT was right, you are wrong, all a bit silly aye?

Cheers
