If you want to maintain your current email .
You may be able to use mail forwarding . Then use the new ISP email or gmail to access them .

So then you can choose any ISPs you want . You can still send email out using your old email address, just use the old email with the new isp's smtp server address to send out . Use the old pop server address to get mail .

Might not work for all but it does work for mine, they keep on sending me invoices for a few years now with 5c credit .

I only took up BB 4yr ago, I had 3GB cap before which was fine for me . For you I suggest maybe 10GB for the first month and then re-evaluate .

We got 10GB now but I just switched my next month back to 3GB :)

PS . If you go to a friends/family place maybe see if you can pop the mail while running on a diff ISP . Then if they allow you to (auto) forward emails - should be under customer login online - you are all set . . . . .

1156476 2010-11-30 06:51:00 aww thanks for that . . . . . . . . .

i can see a mass email going out, and then a re set of email thingys for trademe, pf1 and the main pages i use and look at . . . .

more madness, thats one of the reasons i was thinking of keeping Slingshot, but the night mare of the online stuff, and that newpaper article, and lots of people slagging it i decided to go back to xtra, and have one bill for the whole shebang and i am sorted . . . . . .

:D

i just cant beleive how fast it is from our slow dialup, . . . . but it costs twice what our dialup did . . . . :o

1156481 2010-11-30 07:44:00 I leave mine on. They don't chew up data per se, if nothing is connected to the box, nothing will go out, and nothing should come in.

There is a small amount of back-and forth between the box and telecom, but it is so small, that it would total less than 5Mb in a whole month.

1156482 2010-11-30 07:45:00 Your choice. It matters not but I leave mine on all the time so Win and Antivirus updates etc happen. Snorkbox (15764)

turn windows updates automatically download OFF and any other software that does that. in case it blows your data cap quicker.

you can leave router on, i turn mine personally off at night some don't :D

put it this way, if people in your household have their own computers, it would be a hassle to turn it on each time they wanna get online :D
