I'm not a complete moron when it comes to computers

Are you an incomplete moron then?

I now wait to be banned.

You are talking about the memory on it and also speed of the GPU.

But there are still unanswered questions INMHO.

1193558 2011-04-12 04:49:00 Maybe not a complete moron, but you're certainly trying. ;)

The GTX570 I linked to is probably a good starting point. I think you need to do a little more research before asking questions though, you don't even know what you are asking for.

1193559 2011-04-12 04:55:00 I just need 1.5 gb. So anyone reading this please help me find a good but not too good, nvidia ( 400-600 gtx) cards. That are like 0-500 $ and

memory in a videocard matters for sh*t. Unless you want to render a huge 3d model or something.

400mhz roflamo I have not seen a card @ 400mhz for a long time. The GTX 460 starts at like 675 or something. BTW nVidia is a GPU manufacturer and rarely make gfx cards completely themselves. Asus does sell nVidia cards *faceplam*.

and what does the 400mhz have to do with memory? Why do you need big memory? Memory doesn't make a gfx card good.

A bit like ASUS and Gigabyte makes fantastic motherboards but it still uses a Intel microchip ;)

ASUS and Gigabyte also make fantastic video cards, you can have either a Nvidia or a ATI chip in it ....

Out of interest, may it be possible to get a Nividia made video card if that is what the OP really wants? I may have seen them on various reviews.

1193561 2011-04-12 06:33:00 I'm pretty sure nVidia does promotional and limited editions of their cards occasionally. The cards you see I am assuming are for tech demos and to send to pc review mags. icow (15313)
1193562 2011-04-12 06:33:00 Memory is not king . Althou it can help .

You are wanting a good chipset with less memory than a worst chipset with more memory .

I heard a Formula 1 car can be a 2 litre . . . that is better than a 3L family car ;)

+1 I would never buy just off memory chipset, gpu, clock is always more important.

OP: www.amazon.com

$500 card. 1.5gb. nVidia. Any more requirements?

BTW just looked for nvidia branded cards and all I could find were quadros.

Mate stop there, you obviously know little about computers lol. Look, you know very little about video cards, and from there I suspect you probably have an insufficient power supply, and since your budget is 500US, you can get either an ATI 6970 or an Nvidia GTX570 with some cash to spare, but your power supply may not be able to handle it.

You are a moron. Go read up at Toms Hardware all about todays graphics cards and whats importnat and whats not.

And ATI and Nvidia manufacturers, versus the brand manufacturers.
