1193548 2011-04-12 01:58:00 It would help if you actually answer questions.

If you are confused about what you want and why then so are we.

You started with nVidia and now you are looking at ATI.

And looking at prices is also difficult. Are you in New Zealand?

1193549 2011-04-12 02:06:00 That's a nice card, but as this is a New Zealand website and most of us posting here are from New Zealand we have no Idea what is a good price on these websites.

Also please be aware the amount of memory on a graphics card is not what you gauge it's performance on.

The difference between GTX 580's from different manufactuers such as ASUS , Gigabyte, MSI etc is mostly to do with the quality of components and the warranty. The MSI card you originally listed is proably very good, it's just that round here people prefer the other manufacturers due to their good track record in the past.

Have a look here (www.gpureview.com) I find this site useful as it makes recommendations within price ranges and it means I don't have to think too hard:) Also here (www.videocardbenchmark.net) for benchmarks if you want to check for yourself which are best value for money (best "bang for your buck"). Other posters have made good suggestions, take their picks, do the research, and make the choice that best fits your criteria.

Cheers!

1193552 2011-04-12 03:28:00 What do you mean by high speed. A videocard isnt a modem. Its not going to get you around anywhere faster. And as already stated search in Google. Since you're not here, and we're not there. So, what we post will be completely different (in price) Speedy Gonzales (78)

1193555 2011-04-12 04:17:00 Be careful of that last comment, esp with the first reply "NICE cards but I kind of needed an an nvidia one, not asus" :D ;)

The first card, the GTX580 has a nvidia chipset

If you look at the second ASUS card, it is a AMD. The third one also an ASUS has a nvidia.

All the cards are manufactured by ASUS.

Gigabyte, MSI also make Cards, and can have nvidia chipsets or AMD chipsets.
